I am Professor of Educational Psychology and Educational Technology at Michigan State University where I direct the Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program. I currently chair the Creativity Special Interest Group at the Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education. I am also a member of the board of the Okemos Public School District. I am mostly known for my research on technology integration in teacher education (aka the TPACK framework). My current work has focused on better understanding the role and nature of creativity in teaching and learning contexts. Most of this work is conducted by the deep-play research group (an informal group of faculty and graduate students at MSU). I currently lead an exciting project (the MSUrbanSTEM project), focusing on developing STEM and leadership capacities of teachers working in Chicago Public Schools. I love teaching, face-to-face more than online, though I do both. I write a lot, and links to most of my writing can be found here on this website. I also enjoy creating ambigrams and recently had an exhibition of my work (and its relationship to creativity and mathematics) at the MSU Museum (click here to find out more about my creative work).
